Independents, PML-N dissidents launch Balochistan Awami Party

Lawmakers announced the launch of a new Balochistan-based political party at a press conference in Quetta on Thursday.

The Balochistan Awami Party includes the provincial Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, independently elected senators and some dissident MPAs of the ruling PML-N.

Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, who is the spokesman of the party, while addressing the press conference said his family has been associated with PML-N for decades and while they have now decided to part ways with the ruling party, “we are not separating ourselves from the mindset of Muslim League.”

He said the new party is being launched using PML-N’s mindset “but with a different name”.
